1) System Ownership and Claiming
Still Constructing Page.. WARNING - This page will be edited again.

TIME
Anything to do with the concept of time regarding battle claims/defences on the forums, is in Hobart Time (+10).

System Ownership

A clan may claim one system per week.

Home System

When a clan forms and reaches official clan status, they may make a claim for a Home System.

If the claim is unchallenged within one week from claiming the system will officially become th clans Home System.

If the claim is challenged by another clan ownership will be decided by a System Battle. The winner of the Battle will then own the system and it will be in a cool down period.

Clans must maintain at least one base within their Home System. This Home Base is not only a symbol of a clans continued activity but also of their right to govern their territory.
If this base is used in battle, in must be on the normal plane and within system boundaries.

System Claiming- Attack

There are three options for clans to make a claim on a system.

Option One- Adjacent System Attack

The attacking clan may claim a system adjacent to a system the attacking clan already owns. This claim is to be made on the system claiming section of the server forums.

If the system is unowned and the claim goes unchallenged within one week the clan will become the new owners of the system. In the event the claim is challenged or defended the ownership of the system will be decided by holding a System Battle between the Attacking and Defending clans.

If the system is owned by another clan ownership will also be decided by holding a System Battle with the winning clan being the owners of the system. After the battle the system will go into cool down.

Option Two- Distance Attack (Non Jumpdrive Attack)

From Own Territory: A clan may claim a system away from their own systems. However there is a cost in battle points for each system jumped (except the first adjacent system) to be forfeited from the available points for a system battle (see Points).

For Example:
Scenario One: Clan A owns Gamma and wishes to claim/ attack Omega 5. The cost for Clan A is Nill for the jump into Omega 41 and 15 points for the next jump into Omega 5.

From Allied Territory: A clan may also (with the agreement with their allied Clan) make a distance attack from their Allies territory.

For Example:
Scenario Two: Clan A is allied with Clan B who owns Cambridge. Clan A wish to attack New London. If their allies agree, Clan A may attack New London from Clan B’s Cambridge. However there will be a 25 point cost for every jump from Cambridge. In this case 25 points for the one jump Cambridge to New London.

Attacks from allied territory must be posted on the forums in the usual way. There must also be accompanying agreement posted by the allied clans leadership.

Attacks may not go through another clans territory.

Option Three- Jump Attack (Using a Jumpdrive)
A clan may claim/attack a system by using a carrier ship equipped with a jumpdrive.
This requires a cost in points for the carrier and for the jump drive.
(See 2) Battle Points - still to be presented)

This ship must be piloted by another individual of the clan and not someone also in another ship fighting. (There is no multi-logging in battle)

System Defending-

There are two types of System Defence:
A defending clan may have as many defending battles as necessary per week due to multiple claims on their territory.

1 Owned Territory:
In the event a Clans Owned System is attacked by another clan the current owning clan has the right to defend their system. The ownership of the challenged system will be established by a System Battle held in the claimed system.

Defence of the system must be posted on the server forums within one week of the attacking clans claim. Battles are to be arranged and held within two weeks of post of defence.
The winning clan of the System Battle will be the owner of the system and it will be in cool down.

2 Distance Defence:
A clan may defend a system up to two system jumps away from their owned territory. In this circumstance, if the defending clan wins, the defending clan stop the attacking clan from owing new territory which then becomes Neutral Territory for the cool down period.

When the defence is one system jump away from an owned system and the defenders win the system battle, they own the system.

LOSING SYSTEMS
If a clan has a disconnected system, they must utilise every claim their clan gets, to connect that system to the bulk of their owned territories, with unowned space taking precedence over owned systems. Check with admin if at all not sure.

More to come....
Admins reserve the right to edit this post as they see fit over time.
Thanks to Mischief for helping me simplify and present this "clean-up". This is not all of it, so please be patient if you see something you are not sure on.

Clarified The home base if used in battle.

This Home Base is not only a symbol of a clans continued activity but also of their right to govern their territory.
