Claiming, Allies, Battles and the UFLA MERCs
Just like it is in the real world the further away from a territory, the less resources you have available to you.
Makes defending Home Systems more efficient.
Allows for attacking almost anywhere on the map.

-----------------------------------------------------
The defending clan may choose the location of the battle and state it in the appropriate section in the Council.
This is not to be closer than 14km to a player base unless it is
the home system. Home systems may have the additional protection
of a clan player base if there is one.
This replaces the clan player base point system.

The Player Base used in the battle of the Home System, must not have more than three Weapons Platforms on it.
These can be of any of the weapon types.

The Clan Alliance System will be dissolved.

A clan may start an attack from another clans system if they have agreement from the clan leader. This attack may not go through another clans territory.

This must be a declaration on the forums. A new post in this Battle of Sirius section with a template naming the attack and the system, with the allied clan representative or higher responding and agreeing.

An example, I make a post titled:
Portal allied attack NY - Pirates

This describes the Portal clan attacking New York through the Pirates closest system of Bering instead of the Portals clan of say Hanburg.
We would then expect a representative of the Pirate clan to respond saying yes they have agreed.

The further away a clan attacks from their main territory (adjacent connections to their home systems), the amount of 15 points are deducted per system (excluding the first) that will be available in the fight. They may not go through another clans territory.

If the attack is staged from another clans territory this value is 25 points per system.

If the clan wins, they win the system, however, they have less
points to use on defending that system.

The further away they are from one of their own territories the less points they have available. The same amount of points they use to attack from the closest territory, they have available to defend.

Any agreement from a clan used in battle, must be re-instated
again, for the defense of the said system. If not, then they must use the default set of points.

15 per system
25 per system if they stage the attack from an agreed clans territory..

So we have done the old way for a long time now and it was good for a while, but stagnant. This hopefully will provide a fresh new look at the clans and the battles and get more people involved.
Also, with this and the UFLA MERC system, we hope it will cover everyone's issues that have been bought up in the past.

Of course everything can be adjusted and changed, especially point details. We need to play them so we can see what we need to do in regards to tweaking.

Carriers and Docking Modules in Battle
A clan can use MERC points to "buy" a Carrier (125 points), docking modules (10 points)and /or a mk4 Jump Drive (50 points).
A maximum of 3 "paid with points" bombers are allowed to be added to the already 5 clan tagged.

JUMPING ATTACK
A clan may use a "paid for points" mk4 jump drive (50 points).

Auxillery members
For system battles for those that are not in a clan and present at
the time may still be able to help in battle.
To increase numbers in battle squadrons at present, due to the
recent events, up to a total maximum of 9 per fleet.
They must be in fighters (no weapons that would count as a bomber
in the rules) only, and admin will finalise numbers if unbalanced
and the leader agrees.
If a leader agrees, they will accept Auxillary members to a posted battle. That person may post if they are able to battle and the leader may accept reply in that post. They do not have to be in a clan.

Then an hour or so before the battle said people should be able to
get to the location, be in a fighter and join the fleet group.
If the location is not an exotic location, the admin hosting the
battle may beam you on your request to the location.

EDIT: (These items are precedent and these starting amounts will be observed. Also these whole rules are going to be cleaned to make it easier to understand)

JUMPING ATTACK
A clan may use a "paid for points" mk4 jump drive (50 points). Doing this they may attack anywhere in Sirius without the point reductionor having to worry about going through another clans territory or creating allies, to stage the attack from there space.
